This flight looks fun
Coming into Hamburg yesterday. That's an A320 battling severe crosswind and nearly losing its shit. The pilot deserves a hefty raise and extended vacation from keeping it off the ground. |

It's 'illegal' to host that vid in Germany, 'cause some TV station bought the rights - that's why it got removed from YouTube.

Seems like a bad idea to try the landing in those high winds unless he had fuel concerns. Still, pretty impressive that he didn't lose it. He's just showing those custom Honda owners what drifting is all about.

It appears he was already committed to the descent - I am assuming the crosswinds were surface-level and not atmospheric, so he didn't start to drift toward the left until his final approach. By the time they realized the drift was substantial it was nearly too late to rise up.
Heading at a 30 degree angle into the runway is generally a bad idea. |

surprising news: it was a female pilot who was 'landing' with this plane, guy got into it only at the last moment and took the plane up.
I wonder why did that guy let the girl (she was 24 years old) in charge of the plane in such weather. |

It looks like the pilot was trying to avoid that (c) Lars Tretau sign. Why would an airport put floating advertising hoardings right next to a runway like that?!!
