owned my turntable for 20 years and finally got some shaft oil. let's see 20 years divided by 7000 hours of operation...

i think i noticed a huge different right away

also that "total life" record is amazing.

Saw JAMC last night but they didn't have any albums for sale.

But The Black Ryder opened the show and I love them so I bought both of their records. Pretty glad about that because their first one goes for at least double the price on Discogs.

The Walkmen - Four of their albums
Editors - The Back Room
Echo and the Bunnymen - Interpol
U2 - At their all time post punk high compilation 2LP (basically a sampler from no line on the horizon, how to bomb an atomic mantle and songs of innocence)

I remember this guy posting on Reddit a few years ago in the shoegaze subreddit asking for feedback on his production and stuff

it's nice to be a total dummy and not even know the discography of some bands I love.

this way my eyes popped out with excitement when I got Mogwai - Les Revenants today. I had no idea this album even existed!

I saw them open for Social D like five years ago in some big venue.

Then they toured Teeth Dreams last year and they came close by - one stop in Lawrence KS (really small venue w Deer Tick) but i had already had tix to see Arcade Fire w my friend from Chicago. Then they had a show in like Columbia MO but i had tix to see Loop, who reformed briefly and will literally never come to KC ever again. I was extremely upset about missing them.

So yes. I have seen the Steady but it wasn't a "real show".

However, Craig Finn is doing solo gigs opening for Heartless Bastards and, coincidentally, they're playing the really small venue I saw Loop at. So, I'll probably meet Craig Finn and act fan boyish around him and creep him out.

Cool I'm 32

Yeah I can see them being an opening act being kind of awkward

They are one of the best live bands I've seen though and I wouldn't anticipate them being around much longer. Dying to see them a time or two before they bite the dust

Yo, now that you say it, I could totally see Teeth Dreams ending up being the last record. Although the two singles they released from it did decent enough. Maybe one more album?

I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with it, either; I mean, I like their stuff but where else are they going to go musically, y'know? (I wouldn't mind them dropping a weird post punk-ish album and touring with Protomartyr, tbh.) A b-sides/rarities collection would be a killer (party) idea, too. I'll float it to him when I see him on July 1st.

I just need to hear "Certain Songs" live and I can die happy.

so start a thread

start a songs you streamed thread, an albums you downloaded thread, a songs you heard thread, a cds you bought thread, etc

the limit is your imagination

as opposed to, i don't know, bursting into a VHS thread and start yelping about Blu-Ray

i buy tapes too - don't feel the need to showcase it much on netfuckingphoria

Slunken is a purist.

Hey Sarah I had a Kevin Durant endorsed candy slush from Sonic and I posted the Lil B ' Fuck KD' bid and I went to tag you but saw you deactivated.
