Default concepts that people generally misunderstand

Alcoholism - Contrary to popular belief, an alcoholic is not someone that drinks every day 24/7 (although they could, but its not a requirement). An alcoholic could be someone that only drinks four times a year (just as an example) but when he/she does drinks those four times a year, they have to get really fucked up. They just can't stop after a few drinks. They have to get totally wasted. I guess its a lack of control.

Unemployment- Someone is not "unemployed" if they just don't have a job. Someone is unemployed ONLY if they do not have work and are LOOKING FOR WORK. So I wonder what's a name for those that don't have jobs and aren't looking at all. (don't bother chiming in with the bum joke, it won't be funny)

Is this your own personal opinion? Because it's quite false.

Sex: biological identification. (ex. human chromosomes are either: XX = female; XY = male)
Gender: excessive sex distinction based on societal stereotypes [AKA how you identify yourself (ex. feminine, masculine, transgendered...)]
American: someone or something from the Americas. I hate it when people from the US call themselves Americans and imply being from the US. Damn ignorant people prolonging their ethnocentric beliefs... Notice how various other languages besides English have a word specifically for things and people of the US nationality.

They're not part of what is known as the Labour Force.

Employed + Unemployed = Labour Force
Labour Force + Those not looking = Working Age Population

You're considered to be Unemployed if you've been available for work in the preceeding week, but haven't, and have looked for work in the past 4 weeks. You're considered not in the labour force if you've not looked for work in the past 4 weeks.

The Unemployment Rate is deteremined based on the Labour Force and doesn't inc|ude people who aren't looking for work.

There's everyones Economics lesson for the day

English is one of the most concise modern languages today so there should be a more specific word for the US nationality. English is a fucked up language as it is. Create a damn word like United Statesian. (You can pronounce Californian and Pennsylvanian, can't you?) The US entity does not consist of all the Americas so saying that you are American doesn't cut it anymore. You prolonging these ethnocetric beliefs is one of the reasons for all this so-called terrorism in the US.

P.S. It doesn't seem that you have much of a life either, being here and all...

the assumption that calling ourselves American spreads our ethnocentric beliefs is ignorant, and the French language has Americain and Americaine for males and females of the US, so there, we got the french with us on this one.

That has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard in my entire life. No really, that's a cake taker. Fucking christ.

You actually waste time thinking about shit and then act like like you're intelligent and profound? Go back to the drawing board, for reals.

In Spanish/Castillian, there is a word for people from the US: estadounidense. Remember, France along with the United States is one of those countries that like to "divide and conquer." Manifest destiny doesn't work anymore. Don't try to argue things that you don't know about. You need concrete evidence to be convincing in my book. If possible, give me an educated guess on why Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa have so many problems today. Take a survey of people from around the world and find out what they think. Do you believe that France and/or the United States are innocent here? I've attended secondary school and univeristy with large foreign born populations. I've also lived in Argentina and the United States. I'm getting a Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Studies and Sociology, so thinking about this stuff is what I do. If ignorance is bliss, then tell me, are you happy now?

Aww... How cute! You've got minions. You didn't answer the fucking question. I am the way I am because I've learned things through interacting with others, not just via academia. I'd like to know what you're credentials are (life experiences, academia, etc). If everyone were the same, what fun would that be?

No. It's not my own personal opinion.
Although I should state that alcoholics could be 24/7 drinkers if they start and can't stop.

People don't need "credentials" to voice dissent. Get off your high horse, clownboat.

I see your point and sorta agree with you. However, have you come ever across someone from Mexico or Canada or Brazil or Peru, etc. that called themselves an "American". "American" has come to mean someone from the United States of America...even if that isn't what is intended by its proper definition, culture/society has kinda redefined the term.

i dont know man, but i would say that both the English and French Dictionaries are quite concrete. Im not saying that South America is not America, im saying that there are people other than us stupid white Americans that use American to define residents of the US.

No one brought up Manifest Destiny because of your point, it is not longer useful.

i wish that i had the fucking power to "take a survey of people from around the world", but i will leave that to you.

I hav onlee ben to skol for litle time, but i think im okay smart kindof. But i cannot be sure because i am ingnorant and happy. And you beat me to the gratuitious Michelle Branch quote "are you happy now?" And for that you get my applause.
