Default girls only: question about long periods / birth control

ok i started taking the pill, and i'm already on my 7th day of my period and still bleeding. not that much, but usually by the 5th day i'm done. has this happened to anybody after starting birth control?

i'm on orthocyclin, and i've purposly skipped a week of pills and not had a period for 2 months, but you pay for that later. the 7day thing happend then, and sometimes it happens every now and then but it's really light the first and last 3days, which wasn't like my cycle before the pill at all. before the pill the first day would be awful, the second day would be nothing, then it would slowly start up again the 3rd and then end on the5th. atleast with the pill you've got a better idea of when exactly it starts and stops.
usually when you start a new pack, you're supposed to stop menstrating right? that's the way it is with mine atleast.

it takes 3 months for you body to adjust to the pill. give yourself time. if you get your period longer than you should that means that they have to up the hormone level but wait a few months and see what happens.

Thumbs up

it's true- it takes your body a while to get used to it, and i remember when i first got on the pill i had a similar problem to yours. it should probably start clearing up after you've gotten a pill or two into the non placebo pills.

My period is already 7+ (usually around 9) days or so long normally, so I'd just LOVE to see how bc pills would affect me. My cycle's already messed up enough as is.

I've been very interested in an IUD in the near future.

The pill and the shot regulated my period.

So how's your birth control going, Cat? How's George enjoying his benefits?

the worst thing about it is that my boobs have not stopped hurting since the first day i started taking the pills. it's awful, i was reading some stuff online that it can take upto 3 months for the boob soreness to go away. it's really bad,

as for his benefits, my doc said to wait a month to be on the safe side, to give my body time to adjust. he's more than thrilled as you can image

Going on the pill shortened my period, which I think is what usually happens. I went from 10 days down to 7 days.
