Red face back in brown

I just got back from a 5 day stint in Sedona, Arizona. Got myself some brown skin and some great pics of the grand canyon, as well as a LOT of advice. It was fun listening to my grandparents give me advice on life, and my grandpa got so pissed at the reporters during Bush's speech that he started to tear up. He's very conservative if you can't tell.
The grand canyon did not dissapoint, although I wish I had done one of those hikes down into the canyon (remember the brady bunch?). Oh well, I still got the rest of my life.
Now let this therad die a peacful death and we can go back to the ol' days where I transperently beg for online recognition, and when I get none, I go and beat off
Ahh, it's nice to be back!

hi sledge.

sounds like you had a wonderful trip.

you know, sometimes grandparents give the best advice. they've seen so much more than most of us, it's no wonder they're so wise. i think as you age you just tend to gain a better understanding of the way life works.

awe does amazing things to you to. i think that's what is so amazing about places like the Grand Canyon.

you must have come back from your 5-day trip with a little different perspective. a little more humble? a little more appreciative of little things?

it's funny how music can sometimes do the same thing for you. Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Manitoba. they make me feel this way to. everything just seems to make a little more sense.

The trip definetally gave me some new perpective on life. I doubt I am any wiser though It was also pretty emotional considering my grandpa had just come off quadruple bypass six months ago.
And you are definetaly right about the grand canyon, I didn't feel it was real, I felt like I was looking at a painting. It's like a sensory overload, it took me an 30 minutes just to digest everything. It really is one of the wonders of the world
As for music, well, that's true for me as well, especially with bands like Mogwai, Sigur Ros (like you said) and Godspeed and EitS, all of whom make such epic and grandiose music.

well, if you got a new perspective on life, it's probably a wiser one. it's amazing that you had that opportunity to spend time with your grandfather though.
