Default the most disturbing scene in IRREVERSIBLE.

that said, it was a great film.

amazing camera work, amazing acting, a great story and i loved the long scenes with only one camera.

the guy who played Marcus gave an amazing performance.

i just bought it on dvd today. what i find most interesting is the hysterical reaction of the media. almost every revewier ive read couldnt get past those two scenes, and the rape scene in particular. "gratuitous". idiots. they so completely missed the point it calls everything else they did into question.

interesting fact: gasper added infra-waves (really low frequency sounds) to the soundtrack of the film, namely the first half hour about. "that's usually used in riots to make people run away". i heard at some of the screenings in france, backstage they had big metal tube projectors pumping out super low frequency infra-waves, that are on the cusp of hearing ability to create a sick feeling, nausea, etc. it worked from what i understand with people vomitting and everything

it truly is.

if you love it or hate it, you can't leave the movie unaffected.

yes, you want to talk about that movie. and the camera work. for instance in the taxi, going in and out of the window. and just great acting and dialogue. that scene in the apartment, between marcus and alex, it was such a real moment between a couple and how they act when in love, it wasn't edited or sensationalized in any way.

Lightbulb

remember at the start of the rape scene in the subway, a figure appeared in the distance, looked down the tunnel, and then disappeared. we were talking about who that could have been...

loads of little quirks ...can't remember much else tho, it's been a long time since i've seen it.

Was this filmed in 2002? Because, Monica Bellucci, she's about to turn 40.. badass. She looks 25 in the film.

Actually, she didn't look 40 in the last two Matrix films either.

Did anyone know this? I just found out this week.
