well, i believe that there's the potential for life existing elsewhere in the universe but i don't believe that aliens visit our planet or whatever. i mean it's an interesting subject no matter what and i am always fascinated by stories of alien encounters and whatnot but i don't believe that it actually happens. as far as ghosts go - i pretty much feel the same way. really i think that once you die you no longer exist in any form so i don't really see how i could believe in ghosts but i really like ghost stories and stuff . it's like someone recently asked me how i could be an atheist and still be interested in "haunted" houses and things of that nature - really it's not that i believe it's just that it amuses and fascinates me.

Well what about aliens existing at like ultraviolet levels or levels that we can't see or hear. Does that mean they don't exist just because we can't pick up on them? I can't see "bedbugs" but we know they exist.
About ghosts, energy cannot be created or destroyed so I think that remnants of someone may stay here like memories or photographs.

i think that if another civilization did happen upon this planet that we would be the last to know. obviously if they had the technology to transcend demensions, time and space they would be able to observe without detection right? and i think it's silly to assume that we would be of any interest to individuals of such intelligence.

as far as the ghosts thing - we use the smallest percentage of the brain matter that we're given - i suppose that it is possible that somewhere locked within the mysteries of the human mind lies the ability to leave something like a psychic imprint. i do think that there can be residual negative energy in places where tragedy has occured. but i think that the engery neither being created nor destroyed theory applies more to us being worm food when we die. or being exhaled as a plume of smoke. our energy is dispersed into our enviroment.

See the reason this kind of thing only interests me as a concept and not in an "omg, what if?" kind of sense is because, no, of course we probably wouldn't know if something like that was happening, but who's to say it wasn't something that happened a long time ago?

I think we dress up aliens and ghosts to seem stupid, violent and ridiculous because it makes us feel better about ourselves and reinforces the idea that even though there may be different life forms out there, and even though they may be more intelligent than us, we're still better. Go human race! Rah rah rah!

In my mind supernatural life forms are something between an idea/metaphor for something indescribable and something that is real but far beyond our perception.
