Default do you go through phases when you're passionately interested in the news?

I'm going through one of those phases now. I just can't stop watching CNN. It's my favorite channel currently.
A few months ago I wasn't watching the news at all.

I go through phases of being passionately interested in just...whatever. I have a very compulsive personality type, but that's what comes from being an ENTP.

Right now, I am 100% OBSESSED with North by Northwest. With Cary Grant. You know, and the airplane in the field, all that. We watched it in film appreciation and I've been trying to every little shred of thought about I can find on the internet. Yeah.

Last year I went for about a week where I only listened to David Bowie. A whole week, nothing but Bowie. I did that with the Pixies just a few months ago, too. Yeah.

People who only care about world events in "fad" fashion should shut their mouths because rarely do they know what they are talking about or have any context in which to put things.

I used to read the newspaper daily before moving to Austin.
Now I can't because Austin's newspaper sucks.

Nimrod, get to work and quit posting. Jesus. You're going to get fired again.

Did you get a wristband yet? And if so, how much was it and where did you get it?

And if not, do you know when they go on sale (if they haven't already) and where to get one?

Awww, what they don't have other news sources other than Austin's paper?

Oh, nice job jumping on the lying Ambassadorial lie, but it's not going to work.

Nope not yet. They should go on sale pretty soon at Waterloo for about 100 bucks. The Chronicle will have more information.

Cool, let me know when. I think I'm gonna have to drive down there and buy a couple whenever they go on sale.

Did you even read the title of this thread? I said do you go through phases when you're passionately interested in the news. Before I watched the national news every few days to catch up on the latest events and the local news nightly. There's never been a time when I was completely not watching the news but lately it's been an intense viewing and following of the news.

As far as you getting fired for posting too much, it's logical that you were. It's obvious that you post way too much in a short amount of time. If I were your boss I would fire you for spending too much time online. In fact, If I knew the name of the company you worked for I would send them a letter similar to the one you sent to the police in Deerwood informing your supervisor of your vast amount of time spent online posting.

I'm very interested in the news year around. I read the L.A. Times everyday, and I'll catch some news on TV too. Politics are always game and my favorite topic...well next to the weather that is.

I used to like the San Antonio Light more than the Express News but eventually the Express News bought out the Light.

If you really want the name I will PM it to you along with the name of my supervisor, but only if you promise to sign it "stupid mexican wetback faggot bitchboy whose parents illegally snuck into the country who lacks intelligence Otoniel."

Do you realize when you say stuff like this, it doesn't make anyone laugh and makes you look really less intelligent and trying way too hard?

I sure do. Send it to me.
Oh and I've since asked my parents for more details about how they got here and my father said that he asked permission and was granted permission to come here so my statements about them crossing the border illegally were untrue.
I'll just sign it with my full name, thanks.

I wouldn't say I've ever been "passionately interested" in the news, but I watch the evening news every day...and a year ago or so, I watched Fox News and the O'Reilly Factor nearly every night.

its become such a ritual with be that im never really out of loop. ive been reading the paper everyday for about 6 years, and watching 2-8 news specials on tv a wekk, but rarely ever the 6 pm news or whatever. news in itself has a fickle nature, so it makes sense thats peoples' care and passion for current events will come and go as they do. but its always good to maintain vigilance if not anything else. the kinda news that extends beyond the papers and tvs and become social things, like the war or some scandal, arent the only things worth paying attention to and its a good policy to have to always care or at least try to.
