Default Do all 15 year olds play guitar like this?

http://www.getslandered.com/media/mp...%20Strings.mp3

Even if you don't care for the song, just listen to the solo.

He's my girlfriend's little brother, who also plays in another band with me and two other guys.

The drummer in that band ( Slander, not the one I'm in) is also one of my girlfriend's brothers. He's 12.

I wish I started playing earlier.

well since jimmy page allegedly taught a lesson in your school, is it any wonder?
It's a shame he didn't teach you how to restring a guitar though.

I was a better trombone player at 15 than he is a guitar player.

No, I’m not special. I wish I were a genius who posts systematically with interesting content.
But alas, my posts are by no means on the same level of sophistication as yours.

Nice job sticking up for one of your rare fans. Now that I know he’s 16, it’s much more understandable why you two are so connected.

While I'm at it, the bassist for this band is pretty sick too.

if i was amusing by your standards, i'd truly have something to worry about. Everyone knows how sparingly you use that 'rofl' smilie. Best comedy critic ever.
As you may have noticed, I don't create any threads purely in an effort to attract attention, unlike some undignified people..

'Cheers' for your synopsis anyway, captain britain, but as usual it doesn't mean much coming from probably the most unpopular netphorian.

Honestly I mean he is "good" but its not hard to get that good if that sound is your goal. As I listen to the solo I hear about 3 or 4 licks used over and over and over and over and over. At 15 I could play that and at that time had not even been playing more than around a year. I would sit there and practice Metallica solos....learn the licks and play em over and over. It wasn't hard to get myself playing faster and faster and faster. Of course eventually you learn that it only gets you so far. Granted yes...he is good....especially for 15. But any 15 year old with a little talent can be taught to play that. I'm not trying to belittle him at all....I'm just sayings its no prodigy.

Do any of the old schoolers remember the band Frontline? I think someone here (maybe YeehaJamesIha) knew them from school or something. And ****** seemed to get the biggest kick out of them. They were hilarious.

he plays quite well for his age. some rhythmical mistakes but it sounds good. lars ulrich did the same 20 years ago.

and the guitar solo totally kicks ass...
