what happened to Malcolm In The Middle?

I watched one of the recent eps last night, I hadn't seen it for the last few seasons. I can deal with the fact that the family has a new baby, and the kids all look far older, but I'm watching it and some drunk chick throws a condom at malcolm(who is also drunk) and then she falls over on the floor, then malcolm contemplates whether he should fuck her or leave her there because she's smashed. last I remember the guy had barely kissed a girl yet
