Default wow! goalie Marc Lamothe just played his first NHL game ever! for the Red Wings!!

Did you ever cross paths with anybody who became famous??

i met this guy in grade 6, when our teacher new the coach of Marc's team and got all of his students to do an assignment where they had to interview a player. i had to interview the BACK-UP goalie for the Kingston Frontenacs (an OHL team). i thought it sucked big-time. i wanted to interview Chad Kilger or Tyler Moss (other NHLers now).

anyways, after Tyler Moss left, Marc started and was really good too.

check it out:

on another random note, Jay McClement went to my high school and gotted drafted in the 2nd round by the St. Louis Blues. he ended up getting a signing bonus of $2 mil and is getting $400K a year now for playing in the AHL. he's quite the prospect. he starred for the Canadian junior team in their loss to the soviets two tournaments ago.

it says right there in his stats, 99-00, 2 games for Chicago in the NHL. 1 win, 1 loss.

Red face

holy shit, someone from the frontenacs actually made it to the NHL? Wonders never cease.
I remember when I was about 10, I went to an open rink event thing at the Memorial Centre and managed to collect all their autographs, but that got lost.

with your first sentence i thought you were being sarcastic, but then i looked at your username and saw who you were. haha

i've got a little plastic mini-hockey stick (god i love those things) with most of the teams autograph on it from when i interview mark lamothe.

a lot of Frontenacs from that time made it into the NHL:

Marc Lamothe, Red Wings http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_b...96&hubname=DET

David Ling, Bluejackets (MY PERSONAL FAVORITE, could he ever throw a bunch, quite the feisty little guy) http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_b...06&hubName=CBJ

Chris Gratton, Coyotes http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_b...41&hubName=PHX

Tyler Moss, Edmonton! (formerly Canucks) http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_b...86&hubname=EDM

Chad Kilger, Canadiens http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/player_b...62&hubname=MTL

Keli Corpse got drafted http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p...3?pid=00001104

Actually, you should DEFINITELY check out these numbers, their awesome: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/l...l19891994.html

Well jesus christ. I always knew that there were big name players from Kingston, but not from the frontenacs. Oh well, good for them.
I remember going to frontenacs games way back in the day and playing mini stick hockey up in back corner with my friends and whatever kids were around.
We would also ask the ref after the periods if we could have the puck, but he always said no because they didn't have alot.
Stupid cheap OHL.

my high-school friend just found a couple of Jay McClement's AHL stat page:
http://www.worcestericecats.com/rost...McClement.html

apparently he's still dating the same girl from high school (she WAS a looker).

also, another girl from my high school just married Bryan Allen of the Canucks. just thought you'd like to know.

There were a few guys at my highschool that played for the frontenacs. They barely went to class but got tons of chicks.

i used to always wear my house league hockey jersey because we'd go to the games as a team (father son social event). i played for Fort Henry in the Church Athletic League.

Ha! My friend Adam used to do that. He would have played for Bayridge Baptist. I never played hockey though because I wasn't allowed (one kidney).
That would be hilarious if we played mini stick hockey at a frontenacs game 10 years ago though.

yup. Got it taken out at hotel deiu in 1992. It was sickly or something so they decided to take it out rather than risk infecting the other one.
