i'm hanging out and drinking water and as usual i start chocking like really badly this time going cough cough and my roommate is all 'are u ok' and i'm all 'yeah i just can't swallow liquids' and she told me her grampa has the same problem with thin liquids ;O when he drinks thinliquids is epiglotous doesn't cover his windpipe quick enough and he chokes! so maybe that's what i have too! i mean here i am, like all this time i thought i was retarded and didn't know how to drink. apparently i should tilt the glass/bottle instead of my head. like a baby or something.

nope. i work with elderly people and a lot of them have problems with swallowing, like your roommates grandpa. when the speech therapists recommend thickened liquids for a resident they get a little orange armband that screams thickened and also an h or an n denoting the consistency they need - honey or nectar. there's a white thickening powder that you have to add and stir add and stir til it looks right. and it's the most unappealing looking stuff. some of them dont realize they need it and won't drink it. mhm.

i choke a lot when i drink. when people drink, they don't talk at the same time. the implication that someone is choking while they drink because they're trying to talk is --- oh how do i say it, bombastically illogical and therefore rude and unnecessary. why do i choke when i drink?? explanations:

my epiglottus doesn't close fast enough and i hold my drink and too large of an angle

also what i hypothesized today -- i only start choking when i lose consciousness of the actual process. generally when i drink or even walk or eat i concentrate on what i'm doing because i'm very bad at stuff and i have this fear that if i don't monitor what i do then something strange will happen, like i'll fall on my butt or something. this may actually be the case because it seems that whenever i drink something and i don't consciously think 'okay i'm drinking this' i end up choking. maybe that's related to my epiglottis or maybe it's related to me trying to breathe while drinking because i'm not thinking. but it is most certainly not related to my trying to talk. that sort of goes without saying that it's a non-option and therefore your attempt to write of some obnoxious bitch's petty insult as 'more plausible' is a)ridiculous and b)rude

my roommate suggested that heh. straws are pretty cool. i think i've choked while drinking through a straw a couple times. which leads me to believe i just have a tendency to inhale liquids or something because i'm not paying attention.

also i have these horrible allegra-d pills that are fucking huge i hate taking them. i hardly ever take my medicine just because i hate swallowing the stupid pills. i scream every time i take them literally. it helps me swallow or something. like i start swallowing and i feel myself gagging and i go 'ahhh!' and i thleps. why didn't they write me a fucking prescription for claritin-d. those are the size of advil. i can swallow advil.

but anyway, if you look at most probable reasons for choking in general. I think you'll see that, talking while eating and drinking is one of them.
this is because your epiglottis your esophagus and bronchi. You need air to talk, and your esophagus to eat.

it understandable that they are a likely cause for choking.

Aren't Allegra-D the ones that come with Sudafed? You can also get just get a prescription for regular Allegra without the Sudafed. I was taking those for while and they were about the size of Advil.

Well, I don't know about Sudafed but the main difference is that they have some sort of decongestent in them, so if you don't need that and you don't take them that often anyway because of the size, you could just get your doctor to presribe you regular Allegra instead.
