My space heater blew out one of our servers

Our building at work doesn't have heating, so all we've got is space heaters. One of the space heaters was plugged into the wrong place, and it blew the fuse (it happens sometimes) unfortunately, this morning when it blew the fuse, it also took one of our servers down with it. The owner just came in and pitched a fit at me because it fried the motherboard on that server...

It's snowing outside today! It's 17 degrees outside! There's no heat in the building, sorry, we were freezing, so we had the space heater on. I didn't know it was going to fry one of our servers

Shame on them for not providing heat. Shame on them for not realizing what space heaters do.. most companies don't allow them.

Moreso, shame on them for not having a simple UPS system with surge protection. He gets what he deserves. It's like not having car insurance on a new car.

Yeah. It's messed up. He got on to me saying "You shouldn't have plugged it in there, since you know what it had the potential to do to our business and our equipment..." blah.

that used to happen to me all the time at work. never blew a server tho. just shut off all the computers on my block.
