that is so not a painting, wow. unless it's a b/w photo that somoene hand colourized... but that's cheating..

ok, it's a real painting....but um. if you look closely at it, and especially if you have any sort of ********** in fine art-you'll notice that the perspective and proportions are 'off' in works by estes. i really wanted to find this one that is a better example of this but i couldn't remember the title so, he's really less of a realist and more of a mannerist, in that he constructs his scenes as opposed to representing them veristically. pearlstein does the same thing. here. i'll find some more images.
