uh............... I didn't realize that every Pumpkins/Soundgarden song was a pissed off one. Maybe if Ben Folds would quit listening to the radio, trying to catch his shitty songs and actually listened to the albums instead of the singles, he'd understand a little more and wouldn't sound like such a jackass.

With that said, Ben Folds himself isn't the cheeriest songwriter in the world. He has recently become more so, but while he might have a more humorous take on songwriting than Billy Corgan, he doesn't exactly offer a more positive outlook on life, except for the obvious stuff like the fact that he has a wife and a kid and writes songs about them now. But Ben Folds Five turned out stuff just as depressing (EET WUZ DEEPRESSING BECUZ IT WUZ SO BADD!!!!11!!!LOL!!!!1!!) as any Pumpkins' songs -- there was just a more humorous edge to balance it out. BOlly himself would probably jump at the chance to take a similar shot at Ben Folds because they're both songwriters who have recently gone downhill but are in denial of the fact, and so hang onto insulting others who are in the same predicament and slowly becoming caricatures of themselves.
