i came home from jogging to find a notice to vacate...

I turned in the rent check. They just never cashed it.
FUCK.
December and January have not been good for me in terms of rent. In December, Bank of America fucked up and caused my check to bounce. I finally got BoA to repay all the damages my Apartment complex was charing me for.
Now it's the apartment complex's fault!

It turns out they just never cashed it. They were closed on New Years Day so I just slipped it through the drop slot.
They never called me or gave me notice that they had not received my rent. The first time I found out they hadn't cashed it was when they sent me a notice to evict.
When I went to the main office to straighten this out the office receptionist told me that new management has taken over during the last two weeks and that they are sending out eviction notices like crazy.
I explained everything and they let me pay it.
No eviction 4 me.
