my dad works in Switzerland, helping a company get more efficient and all that jazz, whatever.. he's there for a month or two, and then he comes home for a few weeks, it's been like that for a little over a year, it'll end in a little under a year. He was planned to come home late next week.
My sister lives in Portland, goes to school and works. very busy. It was my mom's birthday last night. She spent the day with my grandmother and when she got back Erik (my bro) picked her up to take her out to dinner. they sat down to eat, Mom, Grandma and Erik. Dan and I walked in and were seated in the adjacent table. She was surprised, but not too surprised. We did the same thing last year to surprise her in the same place. So that was cool and all.. we're sitting there talking, and my sister comes in and sits at the next table over. When my mom realized who it was the look of shock on her face was fantastic, and she was quite happy and surprised. We all talked and stuff and then my dad called her, because he said he would, from Lucerne, to wish her a happy birthday. He does, and then he asks about the flowers, Did they come yet? she said no.. and he drew that out for a while.. then Kristi (sister) and I said "hi" and "we love you, miss you" etc to my dad and hung up. Then he walked in (mom was facing away from the doorway, obviously..) and snuck up behind her and gave her a kiss and flowers. it was like a movie. My dad was so proud of himself and my mommy cried. I thought it was awesome anyway.
