Seriously, that is the truth. There is a great "anti-imperialist" sentiment in the middle-east, Asia and Africa, and that translates to anti-America, regardless of whether Americans think they're imperialist or not. Over the past 50 years, many, MANY countries have chosen dictatorships over US-created governments. The US government just thinks it can keep doing it because of the success it had with Japan in 45.

well, yes and no. with denying them the status of POW the US uses a backdoor to be able to treat them in a harsher way than they rightfully should. i mean it was a smart move by the US to do this, but from the viewpoint of human rights etc it is very disturbing
