this would ONLY work as a comedy.

But as a straight-faced cop-drama it would be much MUCH funnier.

And with such joyful creators as Martin Scorcesse and Dean Konitz it HAS to be a drama.

Martin Scorsese is reportedly making a US TV drama based on Frankenstein.

A two-hour pilot based on Mary Shelley's classic has been ordered by the USA network and the 61-year-old Hollywood director is expected to produce it.

Frankenstein, which could be made into a series, will be set in modern day Seattle where Dr Victor Frankenstein brings his monster to life thanks to genetic tinkering, reports Teletext.

It will be Scorsese's first foray into small-screen drama and follows his making of a TV documentary series on the blues last year.

Casting begins next week with filming starting in April.

Writer Dean Koontz said: "We're re-imagining the consequences of the tale 200 years later, taking the essence of the story - the eternal battle of good and evil and the arrogance of man."

This sounds fuckin cool.

"Ricochet" - Takes a "Memento"-like backward approach to storytelling as each episode starts out with the climax, with the rest of the show retracing the steps that led to said moment. Rene Echevarria ("Star Trek: The Next Generation") and Jeff Kline ("That Was Then") are the executive producers of the project.

Its on FOX. FOX always takes a chance on edgy & different programs .... for about three months then they kill it. (see: Harsh Real, Firefly, Adventures of Brisco County Jr., Tru Calling, SPACE: Above and Beyond). Or they drag it out and beat the shit out of the show for about 3 years (see: Futrama, Family Guy).

Then they give up and air Joe Millionaire and American Idol instead.

FOX. I love / hate that network.
