The documentary has no serious intention of educating the viewer on the true nature of the music and it's only main concern is to distinguish the particular subculture from mainstream forms of entertainment. If the filmmakers/videomakers catered to fans of the music instead of the mainstream at large then I'm sure it would've been a more informed, more thought-out documentary. If you're looking for something similar you should check out the moonshine documentaries of their roster dj's. I think you'll enjoy those more.

No i "did nott find this documentary insightful into the actual production of this genre of music". A problem with watching a documentary is that the audience automatically assumes that the filmmakers are authorities on the subject when that's not always the case- and it's clear that these people are not, considering the fact that they ******* segments with acts that are not normally associated with the rave subculture. It makes it seems as if they're content with interviewing any kind of subject just as long as their method of making music doesn't ******* a guitar drums etc. So with the liberties these filmmakers took it's hard to say that this is an authentic documentation of the subculture. It's always treated as the "other"; and all you have to do in order to accomplish that is to show anything that's not even remotely part of the mainstream. How hard is that? If I remember correctly the only way they dealt with the drug issue is that they didn't make it a such an issue with most of the emphasis and screentime going to the music. But you really can't prove anything in omission.

These are words to live by, people. Or at least words to watch TV by. Especially if you watch The Learning Channel.
