in the year and a half i've been at my aveda salon both my stylist and colorist have been promoted to "master" status, and this month the whole damn salon had a "minor" price increase. even though i understand that they do have to occasionally increase costs to meet their costs, its totally shitty to pay so much money. for single process color, cut, brow wax, shampoo, conditioner, and tips for everyone involved, its $200+. and this is once every 2 months. that's too much money but i'm hooked and i would be miserable if i quit.

I paid $60.00 (45.00+ tip) for a haircut and color once. They served me chai while I waited. It was well worth it. I wish I could afford to do it all the time, but now I have a regular hairdresser who only charges me $17 (+ tip) I think it's like $25.00 with a color, but I haven't done that for like a year now. I've grown my hair out longer than it's ever been, but I am thinking about cutting it short again :erm

Its such a piss off. I go get a trim... a straight cut, no style, and it cost me 30 bucks, yet a guy can get his hair cut for 10. SERIOUSLY AT LEAST WITH ME YOU DONT HAVE TO GET OUT THE NECK SHAVER!

If I had really simple hair, no color and a straight across the bottom cut, I would go to the cheapest place possible (hell, I'd probably just get one of my friends to do it for free). But since I desire something more complicated, I am willing to pay for it. A bad haircut is a bitch to suffer through (yeah, it is just hair, but it can take awhile to grow back and look decent). The last time I got my hair cut and colored, it cost $190 (including tip). In NYC, I paid $230 (including tip). However, it does vary sometimes depending on the colors I choose, how much hair I get highlighted, etc., etc., etc. The most I've ever paid was like $310. well, yeah, i figure it can be different for girls. not to be too stereotypical, but it seems women are more about their appearences than guys. atleast what i've seen.
