this is the first year i can claim being an independent. now, will i pay less in taxes overall? and will i have to pay more the next year when i file? i'm ignorant, k? i've filed, what, once before? when i was 18 or 19? (i never made enough to count after that, only working summers and/or part-time bullshit jobs

If no one claims you as a dependent, you will get more money back/pay less.

thanks for answering my question. i realize it's ignorant of me not to know this shit and you didn't mock me. i appreciate that. and i know i should get a book. i just need money first. i'm kind of running on fumes.
