Do you try too hard in everything you do, or just here where you make up girlfriends, make up your religion and then browse Pitchfork for obscure albums and post the results as your favorites?

In all fairness Richard Thompson is a relatively well known artists & an amazing guitarist & this particular album along with Rumor & Sigh are well known. Siouxsie & the Banshees are not obscure either. Maybe it's because both these albums are before your time ?

Admittedly I've never even heard about that 3rd album or artist.

edit: I also need to go CD shopping soon. Haven't gone since I picked up Heaven or Las Vegas awhile ago. Maybe treasure or some Echo & the Bunnymen.....

Uhh, he has never posted any obscure albums. You just haven't heard any music before 1997.

If I had time, I'd search for the post he listed his favorite bands, and you specifically mentioned one was not even a real band.

Edit: I don't even think 1/4 of my collection is post-1997 ... that's awfully sad actually. :/

to be fair, none of those albums are indie and it looks like the Banshees one is a bit of a greatest hits collection.

if he was going for the indie-vote, he's not doing a good job, let's put it like that.
