these bands all have their share of shitty fans:
radiohead
weezer
silverchair
incubus

which pisses me off because they are among my favorite bands.

I can see Marilyn Manson fans being annoying too.

Best: In my experience, Pearl Jam fans. They seem to really respect the band and each other without being all worship-py.

hey thrillho, that miniboses band sounds awesome. how's their music? does it sound just like the games or do they use guitars and drums and stuff?

they're a rock band!! they manage to convert the music note-for-note on 2 guitars (often doing harmonies) and a bass. it's so cool that i'd say it's the musical equivalent of that 11-minute mario 3 video.

and yeah, zackz, i haven't heard their contra covers. i guess they've branched out a bit.

i'd say the worst would be anyone who listens to heavy music soley for the purpose of beating the shit out of each other and anyone in their way at a show... a lot of huge pumpkins fans are really messed up emotionally, but they're mostly really good people.

Ariel and I were the only ones of our posse left in the crowd by the time the show was over. Worst concert experience ever.

Good Charlotte fans are pretty bad. I think the best times I've had with the audience at shows were The Flaming Lips and David Byrne.

Dave Matthews Band is music for people who don't like music and kids on drum line in high school. they're not that annoying. DMB is an incredible band, and i have no problem seeing their appeal. They just don't appeal to me. They're not very obnoxious. They just love the music.

Tool fans are pretty shitty too. They think that because the music they like is in weird time signatures and has some mathematical correlation to how one of my asscheeks casts a shadow on the other, they are on a higher intellectual plane. Even if this was the case, they're not in the least bit humble about it.

best fans: andrew w.k. hands down. case closed. checkmate.

I can't say I know any Bjork fans personally, but I was quite impressed with the crowd when I saw her live this summer. During the quiet songs, the audience was *completely* silent. I had never seen something like that before and haven't seen it since.

best: stereolab fans. all very nice, one of the most diverse shows i've ever been to

worst: saddle creek kids. every girl wears that vintage heels/jeans/skirt/vintage-tshirt combo that jenny lewis started. bright eyes fans, generally, are awful.
runner up: sadly, belle and sebastian fans. at least the majority of them. belle and sebastian are one of those bands that hipsters have grappled onto and turned into a great band to namedrop, and because of that, most "fans" own one album or a single and suddenly have rights to list them on makeoutclub

i mean, i list them on makeoutclub too, but i'm a true fan
