I don't think so, just someone that comes out of nowhere.....that's what it looks like anyway

7 of my friends and a guy from work went to it. It was pretty good by all accounts but I haven't had a good talk about it yet.

I was there. Saw Metallica soundcheck the night before with Master of Puppets. Enjoyed the last two years better than this years however. Muse and Goodshirt were impressive though.

Cool

Saw goodshirt, a bit of the darkness, PNAU, peaches, the datsuns, gerling, the mars volta, kings of leon for a bit, fat freddy's drop, salmonella dub for a bit (was stinking hot in the boiler room), bambaata, half of felix da housecats set, and the flaming lips.

Aphex Twin played an after party set @ Galatos but I didn't hang around long as I was absolutely exhausted after the hot, sweaty, and very tiring ordeal that the day became.

Peaches, The Mars Volta, and The Flaming Lips were probably the standout performances for me - The Mars Volta probably took the prize for the best performance of the day as far as I was concerned. My God, they were fucking excellent - only 3 songs in the whole 1 hour set - and I get the feeling that they cut the last one short.

I'm fairly certain that at least 75% of the male crowd watching Peaches didn't realise that her dancers were in fact transvestites. Hehehe

Yeah, I was there.

The Darkness ruled. End of story.

Dandy Warhols were meh. As were Kings Of Leon.

Metallica were awesome.
Muse were pretty good, the Strokes were better than expected, Datsuns were pretty good too.

Actually - did anyone know if Metallica were recorded? Also Neill - did you know if someone recorded the soundcheck?

I have no idea what they played, but general consensus was they were meh. I tend to agree.

I loved Paul's description of teh Dandy Warhols' set ... it went something like

"Yeah they were ok, but nobody is really into them, so they just kind of played a few songs and went away"

I'll let you know if I hear anything about a 'tallica tape Chris
