Advantages and disadvantages of living Memphis, TN

This may be a stupid question, but what is the current music scene there actually like? I mean, of course I know the history of it and of bands that have come out of Memphis, but how has it evolved? I think that's for the optional DVD navigational system, which we wouldn't be getting.
