Default Music Hardware question

Would you guys like for music to eventually try and go all digital(like ipods and itunes etc) or keep things like Cds as long as possible? I really like Cds, tapes and records. I hope that the music industry never goes all digital...but in the world we live in it could just happen. I like to get a packaged up Cd with artwork and whatever. I think it makes buying music more fun.

imagine if an album cover, liner notes and packaging was an awesome looking and artistically designed webpage that could convert onto a portable digital player's screen. and then old album covers and packaging got rereleased in that format. so in 2017 if you wanted to buy siamese dream, you'd get it online for 4 bucks along with it's webpage/cover containing all the original liner note pages that could flip through on your hi-res color ipod screen or print off poster size and 3 cents would go towards bolly's medication.

i dunno, but pay-per-download stores are going to kill 'the album'. people are going to pay forty bucks to get the Top 40 and transfer that to their mini IPOD.

I love how downloading an album now costs as much as buying it.

I personally don't really care, but it would suck to have to buy all my music over again if cd players get phased out like 8-tracks did. I like to hold a new cd in my hands and flip through the little book and look at the pictures, but the music is usually a lot more important to me.
