Default A non-daily new installment for the daily Netphorian

For Christmas, I received a "Presidential (Mis)Speak: The Very Curious Language Of George W. Bush" desk calendar. Each day, there are quotes by our fearless leader that really make no sense when read by themselves. So I decided to enlighten Netphoria into the wisdom that our president speaks.

So, here is the first entry!:

"Border relations between Canada and Mexico have never been better."

Sept. 24, 2001 at a joint press conference with the Canadian Prime Minister.

Talking

When I was Christmas shopping back in Oct. or so, I saw this George Bush talking doll that had two buttons....'Joke' and 'Inspiration'. So I hit joke and got "Tomorrow, holds America's future." Then when I hit inspiration, it was a long rant along the lines of 'America will defeat terrorism'.

I went back to buy it a few weeks later, and it was nowhere to be found. Still haven't seen it since.

I know what I believe. I will continue to articulate what I believe and what I believe -- I believe what I believe is right

i know its tuna, but is it chicken or fish?!

are those quotes only dumb out of context? because i'm sure there are enough just plain dumb bush quotes to fill a calendar.

JENNINGS: Back in October 1998, you told David Broder of The Washington Post you felt like a cork in a raging river.
DUBYA: Yes. I think that was part of all the speculation and the swirl around whether I would run or not. There was kind of a momentum beyond -- beyond being the governor I guess is the best way to describe it. And I don't feel like a cork in a raging river now. I feel like -- something bigger than a cork.
-- Interview with ABC News' Peter Jennings, July 31, 2000

I would give anything to have a 30 minute conversation with George Bush Jr.

he would string together a collection of nouns, verbs, adjectives and interjections and hope to God they make a sentence.
