Default hey computer smart people click

i got another HD cause i've ran out of space on my 80 gig one, buuuutttt there's no room for it. i've got a DVD drive, a CDR drive, a floppy drive, and 2 HDs. they use all of my IDE cable connectors and my power supply connectors. what should i do? i figure i could get an IDE thing with more connections but i'm not sure about the power supply.

Disconnect the floppy drive - how often do you even use it?

i was going to but its connector is slightly different, it has the hole arrangement in a different way than the one that go to the drives.

i have a CD-RW, 2 HDs (20gb & 4gb), DVD-Rom, & a Floppy.

whats the big deal?

are you adding a third HD?

If you have an empty bay, im sure you can attach it in there somewhere and make it secondary on an IDE cable. As far as power supply goes, i have a ATX 300w Power supply and what i got runs fine (including hardware via USB). You might want to check up on how much power you'll need for all yer devices.

maybe sell one HD on ebay and opt for a bigger HD altogether?

i don't have any more connections for the hard drive. no more power supply connections available and no more ide connections available. i was wondering if there was an easy way to expand my connection capacity.

What am I talking about, floppies don't even use IDE... I meant to make room, as far as connectors go you'll have to swap something out or buy an IDE controller card, they're not too expensive though.

As far as power goes, you can buy extensions which split power connectors into two - it's ok so long as your PSU can handle everything.

I'm guessing your second HD is smaller than the new one you just bought.

If so, you can copy the entire contents of your smaller HD, (including the OS if need be) to the new HD and save the old one for a back up if you ever need it.

I have a 4 gig and a 60 gig, and I just bought a 120 to replace the 4, but my four year old motherboard can't handle that much memory apparently.

But yeah, that's what you can do.
