mate, just fork out for it or ask for it as a present sometime, renting it just won't do it any justice. there is like over 10 hrs of shit on it, most of it all classic early stuff from the 70s/80s

I forgot how great his fued with Steamboat in '83/4 was, man oh man

The Hogan DVD of last year was good, but this just shits all over anything the WWE has ever released. I really hope that they pay attention to sales and realise they should do more collections like this, seeing as though they own all that old footage. a Mick Foley, Bret Hart or even Ultimate Warrior collection would rock ass

I don't think a Warior one would be that good.

Bret would be a great idea though.....

Thumbs up

the only thing that foley collection is missing is the "i quit" match against the rock. foley taking 15-20 stiff chairshots with his hands cuffed behind his back is one of the most brutal pro-wrestling memories i can recall. seriously, unblocked chairshots are bad enough, but over a dozen in close succession is nothing short of INSANE!

still, that's an awesome set of matches and your hype for the flair dvd makes me want it even more. i didn't really want to ask my folks for anything else for my birthday (on jan 6th), but this may lead me to reconsider.

You think that's insane - wait till you see the 17/4/93 match from WCW Saturday Night with Vader that's on the DVD. The whole match is basically Vader punching Cactus in the face really hard, and in the process breaking his nose and quite a few cheekbones. If I remember right, if you listen carefully, you can hear when Vader breaks his nose in the corner with a huge right hook.

Aaaaah, the gems that WCW Saturday Night would produce when they'd randomly give a couple awesome wresters a half an hour to work.

yeah, it is odd that isn't 1ncluded. is that match on a dvd elsewhere? if it is maybe that is why.

another match that I'm suprised isn't there is the Mankind Vs Taker boiler room match of around 96 or so, I can't remember what the PPV was, but it was wicked at the time

.
awesome, the beauty of this upcoming DVD for me is that I've never seen several of these ECW/WCW matches listed, so it'll be a treat

The only thing disappointing about the Flair DVD is the lack of stuff from the late '90s. While the storylines involving the Horsemen and during the Russo-era were far from great television, Flair did give some inspired performances on the mic. It would have been nice to see a few more of those. The clip from the final Nitro is just the tip of the iceberg when it came to those interviews. Watching Flair go nuts was one of the few things that made Nitro interesting in its dying days.

Otherwise, this DVD is incredible. Hopefully it sets the standard for future retrospective DVDs. The Foley one looks like a keeper as well.

edit: Also, the inclusion of the FULL Royal Rumble is worth the price of admission for the comedy alone, IMO. Watching it made me wonder what in the hell it was that I enjoyed about wrestling back then. Skinner?! And then there's Hogan being a little bitch about losing. Way to be a babyface. I think I saw a "Hogan Sucks" sign in there somewhere... the backlash had begun.

Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon's commentary totally makes that match. Without it, it's quite the lacking rumble.

"If you wanna be fair to Flair..."
"Will you shut up!?"
