i've read reviews for the past five weeks. that's why i didn't get one for christmas - i couldn't find one that i wanted. i thought maybe somebody here might be able to share some positive personal experience or at least make up some total bullshit to trick me into buying garbage!

I got a Powershot A70 for xmas and i love it so far. Canon cameras are da bomb.

yeah, i had the a40 and really liked it and will probably be replacing it with the a70, a80 or s400. the a70 is the only one that will shoot vga video, but i don't think i will take that into consideration since it can do less than thirty seconds.

of those three, get the A80 if you can.

Yes because of the location of the flash.
If you are overly concerned about size, go with the smaller camera. If you want better pictures, get the A80.

I got a nikon coolpix...it's pretty nice, but i haven't yet figured out how to make it take the artistic/special quality of photos i want, a a la Ihaman. i hate technology
