Exclamation T3 Fans...

I forget who's a Terminator fan here and who's not, but for those of you who are and were worried about the rating for T3, it was officially reported last night that it will be Rated R.

The first trailer will be aired with LotR: The Two Towers, on December 18th, for anyone concerned with the so-far lack of publicity.

I hope it's not going to suck, but I know it will.

Don't be so certain. Kristanna Loken will be the only downfall of T3, from everything I've been told throughout the last year.

It better be at least decent. You couldn't have ended a movie franchise on a higher note than T2. If T3 sucks, it will irreversibly tarnish the Terminator legacy.

More or less. Batman was badass. Batman Returns was decent. BF was mediocre and B&R...well, at least the Pumpkins did the theme song...very likely the best part about it.

I actually liked the soundtrack for B&R. I thought both BF and B&R had the best soundtracks of the Batman series, even if they were the shittest...

I think Batman Returns is the best of the live action Batman movies. I watched it today again (it was a double dose of Batman 89 and Batman Returns on FOX 29) and I'm struck how much *more* there is in Batman Returns. Performance wise, I think the villains (espically Keaton improved from the first one)this flick are very good. Phiefer's performance in the flick is her best ever. period. and I usually hate her but she's so baddass, sexy & heartbreaking all at the same time. While I dig Jack Nicholoson's performance in Batman, it seems very Jack Nicholson to me. I never see anything but him in white clown makeup, chewing scenery. while its entertaining, its still Jack to me, not the Joker (Mark Hamill's vocal performance in "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" is the best Joker in my opinion).

There's alot more meat to Batman Returns than Batman. The first seems kinda souless, there isn't much going on, but its pretty to look at & entertaining. Batman Returns has the nice trinity of villians, Penguin, Catwoman & Shreck which is great at showing Batman's twisted psyche. Catwoman is the aspect of him that gets off on kicking ass and leather and toys and stuff. The Penquin is Batman's wounded psycho personality who lost his parents and decided to dress up as a bat. and Shreck is an evil Bruce Wayne without the morality. he's dancing so close to being any of them, but he manages to balance it all but those are what he could become. As he says to Catwoman at the end "we're the same". And, just a side note, I think the nicest touch is how Bruce and Selina don't wear masks to the costume party, because they already are in thier masks. And, while love story's don't usually work with Batman this one does. Compare it to the souless / tacked on love stories in Batman or Batman Forever and Returns comes out miles ahead.

Yeah, I can sing the praises of this flick to high heaven. Batman is defintely the more crowd pleasing, action packed of the two Burton movies, but Returns is the real depth.

and, uh, the original topic....

I hope Terminator 3 is good. thank freakin god they gave it an R rating. I heard Cameron just gave an OK for the storyline (no involvement, just looked at the draft and said. "good". And he's not getting any coin off this cuz Terminator is owned by a bunch of licenses) and lobied for the director Mostrow. Mostrow knows the fans would be up in arms if this sucks so they have to try to nail it. While Arnie has sucked hard recently, he can't fuck up the Terminator. His best performances have been as The Terminator so I think he knows how to handle it. While I am STILL really pissed the plotline vaguely sounds a little too much like T2 (two terminators, one good, one bad advanced protoype, blah blah blah) I've heard rumblings that this might be different. But, another strike is no Sarah. its not John's story, the point is how Sarah lives with the Terminator in her life.
but dammit, I love the movies and I know I'm gonna see this opening night. my expectations see saw between very low and very high, so in the end, I dunno how its gonna turn out.

/big movie geek moment over

Batman Returns is the best of the series. And yes, Mark Hamill was the best Joker. (He did Joker in all the animated Batmans, the Fox and WB versions, not just BB.)

I cannot confirm this currently, but I think there's going to be something totally different happening with the T3 storyline. I mean, I think there's much more happening than what's been said so far, and it's actually going to be quite different from what everyone is expecting.

I'll have to go beg for updates from the T3 spy people.

yeah, Hamill is great in all of his incarnations (he even did the voice of the Joker for the 30 seconds he was in the Birds of Prey pilot). he's at his best in "Return of the Joker", though. the unedited version (screw the WB). some of his best lines are in that one. "I'd laugh, if it weren't so pathetic. Oh what the heck, I'll laugh anyway!"

I remember when T3's rights were first rescued from the muck in 1999. the original plan was to make Terminator 3 and Terminator 4. But now that T3 is moving along, I haven't heard a blip about T4. here's an update from Corona's Terminator 4 website from 99

http://www.corona.bc.ca/films/details/terminator4.html

November 11, 1999... Today Vairety magazine's Dish column revealed plans for T2 producers Andrew Vajna and Mario Kassar to produce both a Terminator 3 and Terminator 4. Variety's Michael Fleming reported that screenwriter David Wilson is on the job right now developing the T4 script. A quick check on The Internet Movie Database lists Wilson as writer on 1991's The Perfect Weapon, and we know he also wrote MGM's upcoming Supernova movie and is currently penning their Rollerball remake.

The T4 storyline is set in the aftermath of the nuclear holocaust initiated by Skynet, the "dark future" James Cameron showed us in flashbacks in 1984's The Terminator and 1991's Terminator 2: Judgement Day. At the present time no actors have signed any contracts but producer Kassar left the door open for the possible return of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Kassar also mentioned to Variety that the third film leads directly into the fourth. C-2 Pictures executive James Middleton was quoted as saying there will be a "protector Terminator, and an antagonist machine," and that they will be an important part of the film's storyline

so if they're sticking to the original plan and going balls to the walls with it, the T3 "Rise of the Machines" subtitle might actually be for real and in the end Judgement Day happens anyway!!!! I would seriously be floored if they went all out with that.

hmmmm, I think I'm gonna dig around Corona's T3 webpage for awhile...

here's a juicy tibit from an early script review:

"...It’s hard to really delve into too much of the story without really spoiling some key moments in the script. So I’ll just say that Sarafian has indeed focused the story on Skynet’s rise from the ashes, so to speak, and its beginnings becoming A.I. It’s essentially a race against time for our heroes to literally try and beat the clock and destroy Skynet before they completely go A.I. and take control of the world’s computer systems, which ******* seizing and controlling the nation's nuclear weapons. This is the nightmare that haunts Sarah and the first step at eliminating mankind..."

Red face *sigh* why do I read thinks marked SPOILER?

oh well, since I read it, if anyone wants juicy info, swipe the inviso-text to reveal that

John is the one who accidentally activates Skynet!

if that's true, they should go all the way with it and not wuss out. now THAT would be freakin cool.

I have a difficult time deciding between the Burton Batman films. Both are great, but the ultra-dark edge of the latter kinda gives it the edge. The special efx in both are phenomenal.

Check out the original script for the 1st; it's actually better:
