saw. la boheme tonight. done by some russian company. one of the people i saw it with...i mentioned that they had really good character development and he told me it's because they're also an acting company. it. was. beautiful. i dont' have much to compare it too but i fucking. yeah. and i thought they broke into russian a few times but he said no. like at the end when mimi died....they actually were talking and i thought it sounded like they were talking in russian. i'm so stupid i can't tell the difference between romantic and slavic awww
but i seriously thought they were talking in russian and he said no it was italian. so eh. but man. holy hell. that's all i'm gonna say. i'm gonna be up 'till like 4 am doing homework now but i don't fucking care. holy holy holy. bombastic. bombastic in a wonderful, holy, sublime way. |

God I love the theatre. That phrase irks me (I can just hear Bette Davis as Margo Channing intoning it in the back of my head) but, yeah it is just one of the most amazing experiences.
I remember seeing Petula Clarke as Norma Desmond in a touring company's musical version of Sunset Boulevard. I was so skeptical, but it was so wonderful I cried at the end, not because it made me sad, but because of all the emotions running through me. |
