Important bug question, what the hell is this?

I have these gross bugs in my basement apartment.

They're light brown, and between 1 and 2 inches long. They're really skinny and they have a billion or so legs. They run EXTREMELY fast and tend to disappear into dark areas, like under the fridge, stove, or under my bed :EEK:. They're really hard to kill, and they always appear alone, never in groups.

I'm really grossed out by them, and I can't attack them with bug spray cause they move too damn fast.

i thought everyone knew what a centepede was...

uhm.. get bug spray and spray it all around the inside preimeter of your room and move furniture around and kill the ones that are already inside.. neh?

My dad jumped when there was that SURPRISE!!! millipede shot in The Ring.

I think they are cute bugs.
