Laptop Recommendations?

This laptop is actually for my dad. (I already have a Dell Inspiron 8200. I didn't get the wireless card in it though. I probably will next year, when I'm not using the rez internet and I need free internet ) The reason why he doesn't want to get a Mac is because my family's other computers are all pc's, and he doesn't want to buy separate software for each comptuer.

Most PC software works on Macs (Microsoft word, Photoshop, etc) and work damn well... *gives you burned copies*
