I hate accounting too!

Unfortunately, I'm not even trained for it. Just kinda got thrown into the whole thing...ah, well...I make forty dollars a day only working part-time, and it's enough to live off...and it's really not my fault if I fuck up my job--my boss KNOWS that my education was only completed at eleventh grade.

Surprisingly, I'm actually doing quite well at accounting. Shocks the hell out of me.

accounting is so monotonous. its just looking at transactions and recording them in the proper format.

Econ deals with theories and elasticity and supply and demand curves and things which are more involved. its much more interesting.

You are stupid. There's just as much, if not more, theory behind acccounting as there is in economics. Many areas of accounting haven't even begun to be explored, especially in areas of ABC costing and ERP management.

Try reading past the table of contents of your accounting book. Perhaps you'll see what I mean.

even in those advanced areas, isnt it still basically identifying and then recording information in its proper place so that external customers know the financial situation of a company or managers know how to better internally operate a company? I know accounting becomes more involved, but it still seems very number-oriented which i think is extremely boring.
Face it, accounting is a fucking boring profession and the only reason people get into it is the money.

dude, you're a marketing major. that says it all right there. try majoring in something difficult for a change, such as finance or information systems. everyone in the college of business knows that marketing is just a fluff major. hell, me and a few friends of mine are even taking 2 marketing classes next semester just to inflate our GPA!

Being that I'm a CPA, I <3 accounting! But I'm a tax accountant, rather than those fluffy financial accountants. Tax accounting is more law oriented than anything else...
