Um. If a few small pieces of carrots sat around in 12 hours, is it still safe to eat?

Because. I just placed a few carrots in my bookbag, and for 12 hours it was in slightly higher than room temperature so. I just took it out and put it in the refridgerator, and I want to have them, but... I dunno if it's safe.

don't eat raw steak that's been sitting on the counter at room temperature for eight and 1/2 hours. i made that mistake once.
