compressing .wav files in fruity loops

can i do this with a track i recorded on there? or do i need to use something else like premiere?
i have a small song about 1 minute long and i exported it as a .wav and it came out at 16.6 mb
someone help me please

Why don't you use LAME or something..or mkw
