They beat themselves every year. That's why I say if they trot out the American League All Stars they'd still not make it to the Series.

so for arod, they give up the best hitting outfielder in the al + the second best shortstop in the majors, losing the solid, hall of fame potential part of a lineup whose other players are coming off career years. sounds good to me!

ted williams couldn't change things, i have no reason to think arod will.

so will they get rid of nomar. a-rod puts up good numbers, but that doesn't mean his team wins. red sox won't even be in the playoffs next year. all these fuckes trying to buy a championship and the marlins, angels are winning them. i love it. take it those midmarket teams don't have a chance to repeat.

are you serious? we all understand manny is an asshole, but he is one of the best hitters in the game. giving him up will be a mistake. nomar is useless if a-rod's name is involved by the manny mistake will haunt them.

on a side note, i hope pedro dies. soon.

Wow. I'm now convinced. Boston Red Sox fans actually enjoy watching their team make bad descisions.

Trading for A-Rod is a terrible idea. I don't care what kind of numbers he puts up - he's only one spot in the lineup. He can't replace Manny and Nomar. Knowing how the Sox are about long term deals, at that amount of money, this trade just doesn't make any sense. Especially when they've got a ton of free agents to worry about after next season: Nomar, Pedro, Lowe, and Varitek for starters.

The deal makes no sense for the Sox, especially since they would then have to "dump" Nomar on someone. I heard the Nomar for K Brown rumor shot down by Stark yesterday, and there's been very little interest in him.

Besides, A-Rod is great, but at $25M? Good luck telling Pedro Arod is worth $25M but he's only getting $13.
