Are they ending one particular book, or Batman in general?

I was just screwing around. The art was done by Dave Dorman sometime in the mid-90s or so for DC comics. Just a random thing they asked him to draw concepts of Alien vs. Batman. I love how surprised he looks by the whole thing.

I'd be funny if it was the final Batman issue ever. The issue has Batman walking around, doing his thing, busting heads and then in the final panel the alien just rips out of his chest completely at random. The Dark Knight slumps over dead. End of Batman. Forever.

was it actually used as a cover somewhere? I read the first Batman/ Aliens two-shot. It wasn't bad.

I just picked up a one-shot Batman graphic novel: Switch. The Joker gets his smile moved to the back of his neck. Friggin awesome art and very, very fucked up. Best part in the whole book is where the Joker is pretending to be Batman. "I'm Batman! See! I have a rope and everything!"

Its hard to jump into the monthlies run of Batman, though, I find because there's so much behind it, which is why I usually just pick up one-shots and trades. Where is 620 going? Are you talking about the Bruce Wayne: Murderer / Fugitive storyline or has that long past?

Similiar to the Dead End short film.

i'm sure that cover was used on something....so long ago now I can't remember.

the Switch book was fucked up, alot of people dissed it but I liked it.

The Murder/Fugitive run is way over, and there was a year for Hush which was done by Jim Lee. the new arc that started with #620 is only two issues in and is all stand-alone, so you don't need to be up-to-date. it is just a much grittier type of Batman story

Nice, I'll pick that up on Wensday. I dropped by the comic store last week and just raided it for some random books.

Best book ever that I'm dropping in to make sure I get it on time: Peter David's Fallen Angel. I've just been a huge Peter David for almost a decade now so I'll buy pretty much anything. Last week I had to drive all over town but I managed to get my hands on all six issues. It was so worth it, though. I like Fallen Angel alot because there's zero-backstory to it all. (unless Lee turns out to be Supergirl from his cancelled series, which would be kind of a kicker to me since I never read Supergirl) Gritty, violent and operatic. Its like Batman but with a chick who fucks the bad guy on the side. Great stuff, very cinematic.

Biggest rip off purchase I made: Marvel Must Have's

http://www.samruby.com/Reprints/Must...ustHaves06.gif

I've been reading Ultimate Spider Man on and off through a few trades and single issues here and there for the past year or so. So when I saw this I was like "Freakin sweet, Ultimate Venom storyline in a trade!!!" So I picked it up, read it, got really into it -- and the freakin book ENDS right when Eddie takes the costume. I was so pissed. Now I have to hunt down Ultimate Spidey 37 and 38 just to finish it.

Bitching aside, I love how Bendis managed to cram the Eddie Brock/ Peter Parker / alien costume history into three issues. and he made the Eddie/ Peter connection even closer than it ever was in the original Spidey comic. It would make a great template for a Venom/ Spidey movie.

Still, yeah, SO PISSED it didn't have the whole arc in there.

yeah Fallen Angel is really great, it held back alot for the first three issues or so which I thought was really suspenseful.
PD is also writing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated for Dreamwave now too, there are about six issues out, but the first few would be pretty hard to track down by now

hey man, how would you feel if the Bat finally bought it at the hands of the alien - kind of like your avatar did. Stupid Boner.

BTW, you should change that to a Batman TAS style one, that's the coolest one. Not Boner.
