Goldfish fail bid for freedom
By Christine Caulfield
December 5, 2003

FOUR suburban goldfish were happy as clams when their home was hit by a flash flood during Melbourne's storm on Wednesday morning.
http://news.com.au/common/story_page...E13762,00.html
The four fish were momentarily free after they were washed away from their outdoor tank during the torrential rain that flooded their owner's Mont Albert backyard about 3am.

One brave fish took off along flooded Mitchell Rd, but was caught by a keen-eyed neighbour. The second swam to the nearby underwater park, where a family friend was collecting his own floating belongings, scooped it up.

A third made it to the neighbour's house, and the fourth was found cowering in a corner of the tank.

Tom Forbes, 13, said he couldn't believe his fish had survived. "I didn't think we'd ever get them back."
