I remember the exact day HEATHERS came out, March 31, 1989, because that's when my mom gave birth to my brother. I went to the movies with my grandmother.


coincidentally, March 31, 1989 is an important day in the memoir PERMANENT MIDNIGHT, as Jerry Stahl became a father that day, too. His girlfriend gave birth in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which is where my parents were at the exact same time. He mentions that he was busy shooting heroin in a hospital lavatory.

Dead Poet's Society is lame.

Just what I need...a whole classroom of rich white preps challenging their sense of individuality by reading snippets of great poems in the darkness of the fucking woods. I almost shit my pants when they all got up on their desks

Overrated. Bad, in fact.
