I maintain that N64 was by far the best multiplayer console ever.
MarioKart64 and Goldeneye (which I'm pleased to see you listed) definitely help in that.
N64 + 3 friends + 4 controllers + BattleTanx = Video Game bliss.

Man, that game is so much fun. My favorite multiplayer GameCube game. What console are you playing it on?

Xbox version because I won't own a gamecube of my very own till sometime next month. (I'd been holding out cause Eternal Darkness waasn't out here yet.)

Soccer slam is fantastic. Simplicity always rules when it comes to multiplayer. I mean a wealth of depth is great for single player games but it just tends to slow shit down when it comes to playing with friends. Oh and it has angus in it of course.

Snes bomberman is still the finest multiplayer game ever for me.

I'm feelin the Nintendo love in this thread. I agree with comment that the N64 was the greatest multi-player console ever. Goldeneye was a very important game for me. I played that game professionally in college and made some phat cash doing it. Other multi-player games that loomed large were Mario Kart 64, Wave Race and of course the Mario Party games.

does anyone else find when you play Multiplayer on Goldeneye and don't turn on the speed cheat it just seems unbearably slow?

me and my roomies always play with speed and liscence to Kill. Playing Granade Launchers in the archives gets MESSY but in a really good way. Also Proxies in the Falclity works really well too.

Totally, turbo mode is necessary for multiplayer.
My favorites are (with Turbo Mode and License to Kill on):
Stack with Power Weapons
Facility with Proximity Mines
Complex with Pistols
Temple with Grenade Launchers
I love Goldeneye. A lot more so than Perfect Dark I'm afraid to say.
