i enjoyed it. it was about a gambler who got into some trouble and it ruined his life for the most part. it brings the possiblities of what gambling could become in a person's life. overall, i recommend it but it was quite the downer.
Mooney, go rent it. it's good for people like us. |

Spoilers...
Overall I enjoyed the movie expect for a couple things. First off was that they relly brushed over the actual gambling. While I understand it was more about his reaction, I would have liked to have seen more of him going from 9 million up to losing eveything. Secondly was Minnie Driver, who looked so amazingly weird in that blonde wig that even if she'd had put on a good performance I wouldn't have been able to enjoy it. Like you said, it's quite with downer but I found myself cringing at the gambling scenes - but in a good way of being into the flick. And Hoffman is the man - especially in this type of loser/downer role (for an even better example of this, go rent Love Liza). |
