Default RIAA going after old folks

December 4, 2003. (FinancialWire.net) The Recording Industry of America, which represents such industry heavyweights as Vivendi Universal's (NYSE: V) Universal Music Group, Time Warner Inc.'s (NYSE: TWX) Warner Music, EMI Group PLC (London: EMI) and Sony Corp’s (NYSE: SNE) Sony Music, has once more dropped its heavy weights on computer users.

The latest 41 is added to the 341 that have been filed in the past six months.
And once more, the filings have brought denunciations and dropped jaws, especially when the targets ******* people such as Ernest Brenot, 79, a Ridgefield, Washington retiree who answered his subpoena in a hand- written note because he neither owns a computer nor knows how to operate a computer.

RIAA has charged, however, that he has downloaded 774 songs illegally, including those by such rest home favorites as U2, Creed, Linkin Park, Guns N’ Roses and Vanilla Ice.

I'd say I didn't own a computer, too, if I was accused of listening to Vanilla Ice, U2, Creed, and Linkin Park.

like the seinfeld episode, where uncle leo is stealing batteries from the bookstore. just cause your old doesn't mean you'll get away with it.
