I don't know who I agree with more. I can understand where lucky_13 is coming from because I'm an art major & even though I'm not in art school yet I am still CONSTANTLY running into these kinds of people. The ones who put on a big show ... & for who? No one cares. But just because they do things like (everything that's been mentioned already...) have large vocabularies ,take photographs ,etc. doesn't mean that's a bad thing either. If all the art fags you hated were totally obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins ,would you banish that ,too? I know some pretty fucked up art fags who like some awesome music.

Last year in my Form Design & Color class there was this girl who ,for all intents & purposes is always referred to as "Tazer Gun Girl." During a critique one time she told this guy that she "Really enjoys the application technique [he] used."

Now THAT is something worth getting punched out over. Maybe if we were in art school I wouldn't care that much ,but I go to an effin' community college. No one cares how much art talk you know there.

I heard that kind of babble constantly in my design class critiques. The prof pretty much made you feel obligated to use that terminology, regaurdless if you knew wtf it meant.

Yeah my main art teacher is always haggling me to use art talk more & stuff. I used to get in little tiffs with him 'cause I just wanted to make something that looked cool with none of that ... junk.

i don't know. i think i'm somewhat down-to-earth, and i think i'm a nice person, but i can be a little um...yeah, what you said.

it comes from a genuine place, though. i really really really love art and the artistic mindset. just the whole thing of it-the environment, atmosphere, ideas etc...it's the only thing that really makes me happy. so don't look down on people who are really into what they do or what they study....that's just as annoying. but i know what you mean. people can be really obnoxious. *sigh* i miss it though. i'm an art freak. what school do you go to, btw?
