of course it's a form of political statement and a BIG form but i sure as fuck wouldn't call it 'valid' . mabye letter-writing of petition-making or special-interest organizing is a 'valid' form of political action but terrorism never is. and i wouldn't try to 'justify' it by stating a lack of hope or despair, because as i've said before in some other post the reason israel is occupying territories (well that's the main one. there are the religious zionists etc who think the whole land belongs to them but i'm not talking about them), the main reason the israeli government is occupying territories and making incursions is, you guessed it, DESPAIR. why was the israeli state created in the first place? DESPAIR over whether any other nation would ever let its jewish population live in peace without slaughtering them. wow. apparently despair is only valid when it's acted out against israel instead of by it. hmmm.

Actually...Pakula mentioned Israel as a semi-political issue first. I agreed with him (oh no). A conversation progressed. This is how threads work. i asked pakula a question referring to israelites, he replied thinking i was referring to a different set of israelites. you're the one who turned it into a debate because his statement in the firs tplace was just a misconception of what i had been saying in the first place. it didn't need a big debate over israel, just me to explain the biblical reference.

You're Jewish, and you live in America...you're not being slaughtered. Plenty of Jews live in Europe, and they haven't been slaughtered in over 50 years for that... plenty of other groups are being slaughtered all over the world. Not every other religious group is asking for their own country. Virtually every religious sect has been persecuted at one time or another in history. Jews, Muslims and Pagans have gotten it the most... but only Jews are the ones looking for their own country. Coexistance is a wonderful thing to strive for, however, the taking of land from a settled group and forcing people into poverty for the sake of a misplaced religious group in search of their own colony isn't exactly the best way to achieve coexistance. We have coexistance in America and Europe and everywhere else for that matter because we gain our land the peaceful way...with money. Not with guns.
