what time are we able to see the northern lights?

this geomagnetic storm really interests me. it is still going on and expected to be active until the 30th-31st. but does anyone know the exact time we should look up in the sky for the spectacular display?? i'm dying to know and don't want to miss it.

We saw them all the time when we lived in Azerbaijan. And when we went to Alaska they were very visible. They're pretty, but kind of overrated I think.
