Red face Ghost Ship. Oh. My. God.

So I just saw a free sneak preview of this - let me tell you, I'm as desensitized to excessive violence and goriness on television or in the movies as anybody, but Jesus . . . the very first scene of this film was genuinely horrific. Like, disturbing, stomach-turning, I'm-gonna-have-nightmares-for-days horrific. And it was especially shocking since I was expecting just another cheesy horror movie (which it quickly turned into afterwards, incidentally).

Yeah, so I don't know what kind of effect it will have on you if you see the movie, but as long as you don't enjoy spending hours looking at rotten.com or something, you should be pretty freaked out.

I wanted to see it purely for the effects. The preview with the chandellier reassembling itself made me happy. Otherwise, does the gore override storytelling? Is it worth the watch?

Oh. You said cheesy horror flick. Beh. Too bad.

I guess I should see The Ring instead.

I saw the Ring today. It was just eh. Only a couple of big scares. It might have helped if there was more than one actor in it that I have ever heard of. I guess i had a hard time buying into the idea that you can die by watching a video. Dead little girls are scary though.

The Ring scared me out more than anything I"ve seen in a long time, probably since Silence/Lambs when I was like 17. Horror movies don't usually get to me, but this one did. Whateve psychological buildup it was doing really affected me, and it took both my friend and I about an hour to wind down.

I thought I was going to have a heart attack while watching The Ring. Don't go see it by yourself.

Isn't Ghost Ship the one with Julianna Margulies (sp?)? That looked kind of stupid but I'm planning on seeing it anyway, probably. Was it like, grotesque stomach-turning or just incredibly scary stomach-turning?

Geoffrey Rush isn't in Ghost Ship. Gabriel Byrne is, but not Geoffrey Rush.
