Default does anyone here have a new ipod and a PC?

I'm having trouble with music match recognizing my ipod. It was fine when i first got it and all but recently whenever i hook it up to my pc, music match doesnt recogize it, and my computer pops up saying i need to re-caliber the ipod to my computer, but that it would erase everything on my ipod.

i cant put music on it unless it's recognized by music match.

music match wont recognize it unless i re-caliber it

i lose all my ipod files if i do that.

help?

Solution: Don't use MusicMatch. It's a shit program. This is what you need:

i'll make a photoshop file, and the photoshop file will be 200 megs.
i'll save it as a "12" quality .jpg (the highest) and have no visual compression whatsoever, while still keeping a retainable file size.
now if i lower the quality down to 2, you'll see .jpg marks all over the place, and i get a lower file size.

uhm...same thing with mp3s

I believe his point is that any mp3 are already compressed. Your talking higher quality compression vs. lower quality, but it's still compression.

i initially had problems with my ipod and getting my computer to recognize it. i dont have firewire or even usb 2.0, so i use my usb 1 slot. there is about 6 of them and i just put them into different ones untill the computer recognized it. now it only recognizes it if i put it into a specific slot. also ephod is good, i use it and i have no complaints.

and with mp3 pro you can fit on 1/3 or even double as much mp3s on without quality loss. i dont have a single song on there thats less than 192, with most being mp3 pro vbr at the top settings. i have about 600 songs and its 1/3 full

I can hear the fuckin' flaws. I usually have my headset on or listen through my surround system if its not on the pc, and let me tell you It is quite noticable. Why the hell would i spend a ton of money on a system that plays inferior music? Im not saying i would rule out ever getting one, but ipods are ridiculously high priced and I don't feel the need to spend that kind of money on a portable music player which uses an inferior format.
